All cruise ships weren’t created equal. It’s important to know about your cruise ship before embarking on that magical journey-like a Caribbean cruise. There are many classes of cruise ships in the Carnival cruise line. Today, I’ll be taking a look at Carnival Conquest.

The Conquest class is part of their “Fun Ships” lineup. Its name probably comes from the fact that the ships were inspired by Fresh Impressionist painters.

Is there a bad room on this Conquest class ship? That depends on you, but I can tell you that 80% of the staterooms have ocean views and most of those rooms offer private balconies.

As for amenities, the Carnival Conquest offers 22 bars and lounges, Wi-Fi, in-cabin safes and refrigerators, 3 pools (1 indoor), and a very large casino (Tahiti Casino). It’s one of the larger casinos you’ll find at sea, so if you love to gamble, this is your ship.

There’s also fitness classes, a gym, hair salon, hot tubs, sauna, spa and video game room-plus laundry facilities and service.

Let’s talk cabin size. Four cabin types offered on Conquest class ships are: Penthouse Suit, Suit, Ocean View and Interior.

The Penthouse Suit is the largest at 345 sq. ft. and the most expensive. The Suite is 230 sq. ft., which is a sizable drop in space. Just below that are the Ocean View and Interior rooms, which are both 185 sq. ft. in size.

Conquest cruise tip: If you’re on a Conquest class Carnival ship and want to get away from the crowds, take a gander at the adult sunning deck. Be warned though, topless sunbathing is allowed. This is actually a good place to venture off and catch up on some reading.
