Is the Carnival Liberty or Royal Caribbean Oasis a better cruise for teenagers?

I am planning to go on a cruise with a few friends during the summer of 2011. We will all be 16 at the time of the trip. I have read good and bad reviews for both ships, but the reviews were only from the perspective of adults. I know that there are many things an adult will hate about a ship that teens will love, and also aspects that adults love and teenagers don’t.
While I do like both cruise lines. I would suggest The Oasis of the Seas. It is equipped with Rock walls and an ice skating rink. That alone to me is a big deal. More amenities means more to do. Plus, its a brand new ship. You will always get different opinions on ships. See summary on the ship below.
Oasis of the Seas
The Oasis of the Seas is truly a one-of-a-kind ship, accommodating over 5,000 passengers. Eighteen decks high, this ship has more than enough to offer any guest. Travel between the seven neighborhoods that divide the ship, experiencing something unique in each. In Central Park, peruse the art gallery or unwind in the sophisticated wine bar. Or for the more adventurous spirits, the Boardwalk offers the world’s first onboard carousel and zipline, as well as two rock-climbing walls and two Flowrider wave simulators. Guests can also treat themselves at the Boardwalk Donut Shop or the Ice Cream Parlor. The heart of the ship lies in the Royal Promenade, with a variety of dining and entertainment options. It features Rising Tide: a levitating bar that ascends and descends over three decks. When passengers are ready to indulge their appetites, they can choose from numerous dining options including Chops Steak House, Sorrento’s Pizzeria, Seafood Shack and Johnny Rockets®, just to name a few. In addition to traditional staterooms, the Oasis of the Seas offers state-of-the-art lofts and multi-level suites to accommodate her guests.

Hope I helped!
I would guess since Oasis is the biggest and newest ship, it probably has the best teen stuff.
I have been on 4 cruises in my life. The first one was when I was 15 and it was a Carnival cruise. I found it to be a lot of fun. I would recommend Carnival over Royal Caribbean at your age. Carnival is marketed as a more family style cruising experience. It should provide you with the best experience.
I’ve only been on carnival.
They have this thing for teens called Club O2.
All they do is party and dance.
But I usually just went to the shows that went on 24/7.
The water park on the cruise is fun also.
The Oasis is by far better than any Carnival ships when it comes to teens. The only drawback would be price since the Oasis is brand new and BIG. One thing you need is someone at least 21 in each cabin though since you said you are all 16.
If you want to see what each ship has to offer just google it.
i haven’t been on carnival i have only cruised on royal caribbean. since the oasis is the newest ship in there fleet it has some other things on it that the liberty didn’t. ie zip line from one end of the ship to the other. they have lots of stuff to do on the ship for all ages. rock climbing wall, water surf machine very fun, and they have clubs on the ship that are cool and have teen nights. have fun! and stay in groups don’t let anyone venture off by there self.
Hi there- You’re going to love it no matter what you do! Since I don’t really know what you like, I’m going to suggest that you check this webpage where they list what the different cruise lines offer teens. It will at least give you an idea of the things that you can do on the ships.

Another really cool thing to do is visit one of the private islands, there’s TONS of watersports, barbeques, shore excursions. Here’s more info on that.

Have Fun!
Are you going with adults, because I don’t think you can cruise on your own at 16. But Oasis will be alot better. Way more stuff to do, but the ship will cost a lot more than Liberty. Liberty is a nice ship, was on it last year, but the Club O2 Zone is really the only thing for teens and the internet room is small, slow internet and it costs A LOT for only a few min.
Just my personal choice but I would always go with Carnival. I found a good long and detailed review on Carnival cruise ships at www.cruise2010.net.
