How long is a cruise from California to Japan?

I’m writing a story and in the story the main characters are taking a cruise to Japan. Right now they live in California. Does anyone know approximately how long it will take for them to travel? Please help!!!
That is difficult to answer since there are no cruises that I could find that went directly from California to Japan. One I found went from Seattle via Russia to Japan and took 10 days. I know a trip to Hawaii takes 5 days. I would say if there was a direct cruise it would probably take 7-8 days.
