Do you need a passport to travel on a cruise to the Caribbean?

I am planning a cruise to Puerto Rico, St Maarten, and St Thomas, will I need a passport?

    If you are disembarking in any other country other than your own you will need passport even for one day

    Yes. St Maarten is Dutch and French so a passport is required to go there.

    i belive the regualtions now call for a passport also for a cruise, getting one is a bit costly about 150.00 and the waiting period is anywhere from 6-8 weeks so plan ahead, my husbands literally came 2 days before we left, st thomas and st martin are absolutely beautiful, have a great trip. also this goes into effect after jan 31, 2008 good luck have fun

    yes, as of 2008, passports are needed for all cruisers.
